Biography

Timothy had the gift of transforming his vision into realistic three- dimensional sculptures

March 8, 1957 - In 1958

Timothy was born in Red Bank, New Jersey

The Maslyn Family moved to Hillsborough, New Jersey

As a young boy, he learned woodcarving from his father, who was a skilled woodcarver. The most valuable lesson his father taught him was the importance of knowing how each tool worked to give the desired result. His early wood carving skills would eventually become instrumental in his development and passion for clay sculpture.

1957 -1958

Born in Red Bank, New Jersey 1957; moved to Hillsborough NJ in 1958

Tim learned the art of woodcarving which would become instrumental in his development and passion for sculpture.

1978 - 1993

Tim apprenticed under retired Princeton University Professor Joseph Brown, working in The Joe Brown Studio and later elevated to assistant.

Timothy created his eagle sculpture in 1978 while at the Joe Brown Studio. Upon the death of Joseph Brown in March of 1985, The Joseph Brown Foundation was established designating Timothy as Director of the Joes Brown Studio and Curator of Joe Brown sculpture collection. In 1990, Timothy created the General Robert R. Neyland for the Knoxville Quarterback Club.

1993 - 2008

The Joseph Brown Foundation was closed and Timothy established Maslyn Studios.

Timothy collaborated with the IVY League at Princeton University to create bronze sports sculptures for the IVY League Championship awards.

The first bronze IVY League championship award created was the Maestro Lajos S. Csiszar IVY League Women’s Fencing Trophy.

Timothy went on to create more than fifteen IVY League Trophy’s. In 1998, Timothy sculpted the life-size monument that stands at the entrance of the New Jersey Fireman’s Home in Boonton, New Jersey commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the home. In 2006, Timothy sculpted the life-size monument Tribute to Love for St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, in Bridgewater, New Jersey.

2008

Timothy passed away. He will always be remembered as a kind compassionate man and loved by everyone he met.
