Tribute to the Unborn

A Bronze Sculpture of Compassion, Healing, Hope and Love

Art has the power to speak where words often fall short — especially when it comes to matters of the heart and spirit. Tribute to the Unborn, a deeply moving bronze sculpture, is one such work of art. The monument, commissioned by the Knights of Columbus, Somerville, was presented to St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church in Bridgewater, New Jersey. It was officially dedicated on October 11, 2009, and has since served as a place of quiet reflection, comfort, and spiritual healing.

The artist, Timothy Maslyn, a member of the Somerville Council, donated his creative talents to this meaningful and heartwarming project representing the unconditional love of God. He began the process by sculpting a maquette — a clay model that served as a visual and structural guide for the monument. This careful step ensured that the final artwork would faithfully reflect the emotion and purpose behind it.

The model, Tribute to the Unborn, cast in bronze and mounted on elegant green Vermont marble base speaks of love offering forgiveness, healing, and hope. Viewers often describe seeing Jesus holding not only the child, but also the heart of the grieving. Whether interpreted through faith, sorrow, or redemption, the statue communicates a profound message of mercy and enduring love.

Maslyn Studios is honored to offer this powerful statue that goes beyond aesthetics — one that touches the soul. Tribute to the Unborn is more than a sculpture; it is a visual expression of grace and peace.
